Get Connected

Or Get Connected seminar is our name for PREP, one of the most comprehensive and well respected divorce-prevention / marriage enhancing programs in the world. PREP is a skills and principles-building curriculum designed to help partners say what they need to say, get to the heart of problems, and increase their connection with each other.

We run the Within Our Reach Seminar as a half day Sunday program. Please email to register your interest and we will let you know when and where the next seminar is taking place.

The cost of the seminar is $75 for a couple including all materials.

The Shalom Workshop

This innovative program is designed for all engaged and newly married couples, teaching easily learnable skills for successful communication and effective problem solving. It is most worthwhile for any couples who desire harmony, happiness and fulfillment in their relationships. The S.H.A.L.O.M. Workshop teaches the art of effective communication and gives couples tools to enhance their relationship. The ability to recognize, understand and meet each others emotional needs helps build a strong foundation for a happy and healthy marriage.

Engaged Couples Seminar

Join one of our specially trained facilitators for a private sessions that will take you and your fiancé through eight of the most critical areas of your relationship. Our goal is to make sure that you will never look back and say “I wish someone had told me that!”

Using audio and visual presentations, role plays and questionnaires together with  our specially prepared workbooks you will cover topics including; What is love? Good  and bad communication techniques. Expectations. Gender differences and problem solving.

Sessions are arranged at your convenience and will last approximately 2 ½ hours and cost $95.

Choson/Chatan (Groom) and Kallah (Bride) Classes

The beautiful intricacies of the Laws of Family Purity have been the central pillar of Jewish homes for over 3,000 years. Combined with a healthy dose of marriage advice these very personal classes will set you off on the best footing for your marriage. A choson or kallah teacher is your guide through engagement and into marriage.

Courses for women run for ten sessions and six sessions for men. Women’s classes are $500 and men’s $300.

Build A Better Marriage Lecture Series

Marriage is a skill and our goal in the “Build A Better Marriage” series of classes is to teach you that skill. Taking responsibility, apologizing and forgiving, communicating your needs and understanding your hidden issues are some of the skills that are presented in these fun and interactive classes.

Classes are taught in homes and synagogues around Greater Los Angeles please take a look at the events page for upcoming classes. Weekly men’s and women’s classes are held in the Pico-Robertson area of Los Angeles, please look at the events page for more details. If you would like to host a class in your home or temple please contact us for more details.

Relationship Coaching

Sometimes we just need to sit down and talk it through with someone. A third party can bring a whole new perspective to your conflict and point you in the direction of success. You can come to meet with one of our trained marriage enhancement experts or we can put you in touch with one of our Marriage and Family Therapist partners.

No one can do it all on their own, let our experts help you to build a better marriage.

Shabbat Programs

One of the nicest ways to spend Shabbat is by meeting and mingling with new and old friends. The JMI holds couples Shabbats several times each year with a program covering Friday night dinner and oneg, Shabbat lunch together with a top level speaker on relationships.
